Hey guys, I was looking for some ideas on where to mount a CB antenna. I'm taking all types of antennas into consideration (whips, magnet mount, truckers, ect...) Was originally thinking the dual whips off the mirrors, but looking for something less routine. Any ideas or pictures would be great!

Dual whips aren't going to do anything at all unless they are at least a quarter of a wavelength apart (108").

You'll get the best Tx with the antenna as high as possible at the center of the vehicle.

I had mine mountd like munepit, but the cb is now on the roof above the rear view mirror and I have a mag mount antenna with the cable running through the door. Eventually I'll have a permanant mount, but this works for now.

I'm going with the 108" whip near the tailgate tied down towards the front for city driving and let loose for wheeling.

I have my antenna mounted on the roof because the PO had cut a hole there for his. I'll see if I can get pics tomorrow. BTW, my radio is a two way EMS frequency.

I mounted mine to the side of my half cab level with the box side using an L bracket. Doesn't hit the side of the cab, or get snagged on anything offroad. Performance may not be as good as on the roof, but it still goes as far as I want it to, and receives just fine as well.

My CB headunit is attached to the front of the center console just like munepit's is.

My knowledge of cbs is limited but right smack dab in the middle of the metal roof is the best place I have found. That and a tunable antenna get find someone with an swr and tune it, that will help alot

Mine is mounted in the drivers fender/hood opening lip bumper side of the hood hinge.

Front of the bedside, level with the door handle. Works while on trail.

the po had one of those old school mounts on the left rear quarter. the c.b. is actually mounted behind the drivers door on the pillar, about 15" up from the floor. about elbow highth while sitting in the truck and i just leave the mic on my lap while wheelin.
i dont have a pic of the cb.

i somehow havent hit the cb mounton a tree yet. its on the list of stuff to change

is that roll of shop towels to wipe your face off, or the inside of the windshield? I love it!

face, windshield, hands, steering wheel, its really hard to drive with mud on the wheel, and water coming threw the broken vent window:doah:

i dont think your burb would last too long up here with all the trees that are almost wide enough to get your door handles between:D
