Wondering dash frame in my K5 has been butchered for a radio (thanks previous owner) and was wondering I have one on a 83 C10 truck are they interchangeable? I don't see why not but figured would ask before removed it. Also is it just bolted in there? I see bolts on both sides but never removed one. Thanks guys......

What year is your K5? The break in dash pads is 73-80 and 81-87(91) so I would assume the frame would interchange within those year ranges.

Iirc, the frame is bolted on the sides but welded across the base of the windshield. I seem to remember folks having to cut out the frame in order to install a Diy4x dash.

Yep. Don't forget about the VIN tag, since you have to cut that part anyway you might go around it.

might be easier to cut out what i need and transfer it with the mig or get my buddy to tig it in.
