I have a 78 K5 and would like to use my current door panel on a used door from the junk yard. What years must I look for? I think the later years 1981+ won't work but I'm not sure.

81 up will work fine, you just need to transfer the door pulls and stuff from the earlier doors. The sheet metal is identical. Your door panels should work too...
