Hi I'm trying to buy two Blazers (one a 73 the other a 78) and I have a question regarding driveshafts. Both driveshafts are gone out of the 73, but the 78 has both. The 73 has a dana 44 front, and the 78 has a 10-bolt. Will the front shaft from the 78 swap right into the 73 without changing U-joints? How about the rear? Both are autos with 203 T-cases, and neither of them are lifted. Thanks, Kevin

Not sure on that one, probably not. wait till some of the real experienced guys chime in.

May not fit , depends on whether both cases have the same output . In the late 70's GM went from a spicer style shaft with a strap on the u-joints up front , to the square flange with the 4 bolts . I have on of each 203 here , and I am talking about the front output shaft .

Just checked my LMC catalogue , and both are listed for the cutoff year of 1977 , so you need to look .

Crawl underneath and if both look like they will fit then they will. If you see omething obviously different then they wont. Im betting they will tho.
