ive got a 85 k5 blazer with a electric tailgate. i bought for the body for my 79 k5. the window wouldnt work with either of the switches but i pulled access pannel and used jumper leads and got my window down and as it reached the bottom the cable BROKE how in the world do i get the window out to replace the cable now?????? any help

Thanks
Chris

4 bolts at the bottom of the glass. Remove those 4 bolts and you should be able to slide the glass out manually. May not be able to fully remove it without removing the upper seals, but at least you can work on the inside.

Good luck getting to those bolts with the window all the way down...

I just did this same thing a few days ago! My cable went off after the window was down, too.

I used a small socket, I think 7/16 and then a small vise grip. I had to get the socket on the bolt first and then clamp the vise grip on it. After a few turns, I could get my two fingers in there to work the bolt out the rest of the way. After all 4 bolts are out, the window comes right out.

Good luck!

Couldn't get a wrench on them? I'm thinking if you could fit a socket in there then you could get a wrench in there. And a ratcheting one even better.

The bolts drop down a bit so I couldn't really get a grip with any wrench. Just a goofy angle where it was just a little too low for a solid grip...... Maybe I just don't have the right tool?!? :doah:
