In my shop. Doing stuff.
I have a wierd one. 87 Jimmy. I have made a pig tail to run the Jimmy lights off of the semi while in transports, The Jimmy hangs 2 feet past the tail lights on the semi. The semi lights are down low below the Jimmy tires. I have many instances where I people have not seen my blinkers running. Or they are just jerks.

I ran 4 wires from the semi 7 spade plug and yes, they are wired correctly. Test light on the ground and the blinkers work correctly as well as the tail light feed.

Installed a 4 wire weather pack into the harness at the left rear frame rail. Wires there work correctly from the Jimmy. Wired the same as the feed from the semi. Ran a separate ground from the semi feed to the Jimmy body. I have double checked that the plugs are all the same. Multiple times.

Tail lights work fine. With either blinker being ran on the semi, all of the blinkers work on the Jimmy.??????? Took everything apart multiple times checking connections.

Disconnected the ground to the Jimmy battery.

Pulled the hazard fuse and flasher.

Nothing changes it.

Is here a connection somewhere in the Jimmy that I am missing. Only thing I can come up with is the hazard control in the column.

I am stumped. And electrical rarely does that.

The problem is the turn signal switch, It see's the lights as brake light mode and it needs the lever to change positions for only one to blink. You will have to separate the Jimmy from the circuit.

Forgot to tell you in Moab that @500$k5 did this with his. He said that you just need to remember to click the turn signal lever to on before you get out of the vehicle. (Your Jimmy) This separates the sides.

You mean strap the lever up or down, because it wont stay there? I will try it. I know my dad did it on an old grand wagoneer.

Well, I didn't figure that you would have to strap it down, just click it on.
:D
But yes, that is what he told me that he did with his.

When I towed my k5 behind my semi in 2018, I had the same problem.
The other trucker that was with me said that the right way to do it is to take the wires from the taillight not the 7 way plug.
He was right.
I still have the cable I used and will try the turn signal in the k5 trick suggested by @500$k5 just for future reference
