‘88 K5 here, mostly stock and wanting to install extended wheel studs on the front rotors but I can’t find the right style. Most of the studs from ARP have too small of heads for the rotors.

Wondering what my options are. I don’t think Dorman makes extended ones with the larger heads.

Thanks in advance.

All of the purposely extra long studs I’ve seen are for race applications, nobody makes them for an average truck. You’ll have to get in the Dorman catalog, find the dimensions of the stock studs (including knurl dia and length) then manually search something that will work.

Awhile back I ordered steel wheels from Summit, they said OEM wheels for GM trucks. Well the offset was wrong and I found that out after having them powdercoated.

I was able to find longer ARP studs for the rear. I just had to enlarge the hole slightly. I have yet to find longer studs for the front in 7/16-20 thread size. I've called Doorman as well as many others. If I remember correctly the front studs have a longer splined base that gets pressed in. I may have been able to find longer studs in 1/2-20. I'll check my notes.

That's what I did 25 years ago, switched to 1/2"/20, only options I found.
Now all I have is 8 lug stuff.

Thank you if you could find it that would be awesome. I don’t mind changing to 1/2.

I’m not worried so much about the rears as the fronts, because the head of the stud has to be enlarged like oem.

I bought a set of forged wheels like the original alcoas and they fit but I don’t feel comfortable with the small amount of turns I get on the studs so I’d be more
Comfortable with longer studs and open end lug nuts.

Thank you so much for the info. I just found a thread that that a user posted where he used the exact same part numbers you posted so I think I am going to conver from 7/16 to 1/2" which is a win/win, stronger and better fitment.

I would rather use ARP because I think the quality is better, but I'll take what I can get

Thanks Again!
