They are different from 69-72 from 73 up

Similar, but not the same in every dimension or body mount location. Stick with a gen 1 for a gen 1 and gen 2 for a gen 2.

1969-1972 K5's were 104.5" wheelbase--1973-1987 were 106.5"..
There was a frame change around 1978 I believe ,when they extended the floor behind the front seats,some body mount locations were different also..

Several components will interchange, but the actual frames are different.

1972 was a one year only design.

So technically that’s one more “different” frame for your list
