anybody out there got some 5 point harnesses with out a cage on there k5 with the stock high back k5 seats? wanted to get some but was curious how confy or if they would even work with the seats?? im also puttin the k5 seats in a p/u cab using the bench seat brackets and makeing a rack style setup that can adjust both seats. just like the bench seat would.

I don't think the harness thing works without the seat to match, because the ends would slip of the edge of your shoulder without the slots in the back of the seat to keep 'em in place.
When I was looking at keeping my stock '91 high backs, but I wanted to run a 4 point harness, it was not recommended by the couple of people I talked to. Your stock belt works because it runs across diaginally from shoulder to other side of body hip. But a 4 or 5 point harness is coming at you from rear, not the side, and running down to your crotch. So in normal driving where the belt isn't sucked up against you super tight, the belt can have a tendency to slip off over the edge of your shoulder. I bought my 4pt harness and tossed 'em in with my stock seats just to see how they fit. Indeed they were right, bought some corbeau high backs with the slots in the back, and am good to go.
I'm running a cage, btw.
Without a cage, where are you going to mount the points to. You have three (if your truck had shoulder belts), ok, how about the rest? The high point over the right shoulder (for driver) seems like a tough one.

i was just lookin through my summit mag. and they got some 5 points setup for a roll cage and some that aren't set up for a roll cage. im guessing they bolt to the floor or somthing. i thought it'll be a problem keepin the straps on the shoulders.thats why i asked. Maybe i can make the 2 slots, in my seats instead of buying new ones :pimp:

What are you going to attach the harness to if you don't have a cage?? It's a very bad idea to attach the shoulder harness portion to the floor because it will compress your spinal cord in an impact (should be shoulder height, or just slightly below shoulders).

I also don't think a 4-point would work very well with the factory high back seats because it would cause the shoulder harness to wrap around the sides and would not properly sit on the shoulders.
