I'm having a hard time finding a cold air intake that fits my 2003 Chev LS engine and my 86 K5 truck. Most I see seem to route the air intake to the location presently occupied by my battery. I'd rather hang myself with bailing wire than to relocate my battery, so that option is out. I'd like to route the air intake in front of the driver's side fender well, but I can't find a kit that I'm 100% certain will fit. With most kits costing between $200 and $350, I want to make damn sure I get it right the first time (no returns/no reorders/no hassles). Have any of you guys run into this scenario, and if so what cold air intake did you use?

most of what Ive seen is using the spectre u-build it kit

This, or go onto silicoln intakes .com or something rather.

Buy a 90 elbow, and some couplers, then just source a piece of piping the correct size, and an air filter.

That's on my list of things to do, I find my current cold air tube hideous.

I might price out a home made dual inlet intake, I want to build boxes around mine and force the air through the core support like the factory on both sides of the radiator.
