I have 1988 K5 blazer. Any idea which 4x4 shocks and tires are better for all offroad terrains such as soft mud, desert sand dunes, rocky terrains and 4x4 desert race rallies? Wanted something which has both comfort ride for everyday use on road, as offroading once a month with heavy cargo and race rally on desert twice a year. My existing rig as shown in https://www.flickr.com/photos/46385354@N07/sets/72157650066056327/ already came lifted with shocks and leaf springs but its very hard and jumpy even when fully filled with 5 passengers. I am guessing it might get soft once I load heavy cargo in it but haven’t tried that as yet.

Just realized my rig originally came with large diesel engine but was later changed with gasoline GM 350 5.7 engine

I guess first need to bring my suspension to original gasoline engine spec and probably need to replace my existing dual front shocks with single shock and probably requires removal of a spring leaf from the spring pack to bring this to original gasoline engine spec as it's probably not heavy enough to warrant this much damping. I think my rig has more leaves than the factory gasoline engine setup.

I have been impressed by the oem ford raptor fox shocks that came in the rear of raptors.

I put them front and rear in my rig. Made a great improvement on road and in the dunes.

Also a cheap alternative to pricey bypass shocks, or even 2.0 fox shocks as these are a 2.5 and an internal bypass.

There is very little difference between the springs found on the gas K5 compared to the diesel K5 from the factory.

Looking at your pictures makes me think you have a 2" lift and your front shocks are leaking (need to be replaced). A good quality mono-tube shock set will likely fix most of your issues. You can go down to just 2 shocks in the front if you buy quality parts and end up with a better ride than the cheap 4 shock setup.

Softer "EZ-ride" springs would be the next step if they used HD springs when it was lifted. Even better, yet more expensive, would be to order a set of custom springs from ORD.

Haha I wish.

But I have some parts to make them bolt in once you weld my parts in :D

Idk where that is, but $100 shipped and they are yours. Uppers and lowers

Don't need this for me but thought a little more info would be helpful to potential buyers if you are offering parts for sale.

Is that $100 per corner, per set of 2 (front or back), or per set of 4?

Do the same brackets work in the rear or do you do something different there?

Does the $100 price include the dimpling and welding, is it just unwelded dimpled plates, or just plain jane unwelded undimpled plates?

If I were in the market to buy these from you this is info I would need to be an informed customer. :thumb:

Never really pushed on advertising because I only did one run of them and don't want to get in trouble for not being a vendor.

I think I only have one set left anyways. But it was everything to do the front axle, dimpled plates, unwelded so they fit in a flat rate, plus I didn't want to be responsible for the welds etc.

Rear is totally different.
