I need help deciding which to build as I'm currently deployed and am trying to come up with a plan. I have a 89 k5 with an lift, tires built th350, and 4.56 gears but my buddy wants to sell me his 84 k20 for a grand. The truck will be used as a daily and will see towing from time to time but not often. Which do y'all think would be better??

Thanks, Rickey

depends on what youre looking at as far as towing.
I also say the rig you have built is better than a rig you have to start from scratch on.
but I wouldn't tow "too" much with the k5. like a utility trailer is fine but if you're looking at a vehicle trailer id' go k20.

also, some pictures showing current conditions of the rigs might make it easier to give you opinions.

when I had the k5, I wanted a truck...

when I had the truck, I wanted a k5...

now I have a suburban...I need a couple of each....:pimp:

IMO opinion, k5s are really very inconvenient... Can't haul much. A pain for people to get in the back, and they still get the same crappy gas mileage as a truck or a burb that could haul more people comfortably...

K5s a good driver or wheeler IMO.

So get the truck and tow the k5 :D

I have some pics but can't figure out how to upload them but both trucks are in pretty good condition. The only rust on the k5 is the driver rocker panel and the k20 is just one side of the bed corner. I forgot to mention the k20 has a 4in lift and 4.10s with a locker and a 14 bolt. I think I'm gonna get the pickup after some points y'all brought up about towing

I have plated and insured, a 1982 K30 3+3, a 1987 V10 longbox, a 1988 V10 Suburban, a 1989 V1500 Suburban, and a 1990 K5. I need another Blazer.

I would go with the Blazer between the two. An '89 will be EFI, and an '84 K20 had a semi floater from the factory.

Can you swing both?

Martin

Without a doubt I could most definitely keep both, between the 2 trucks I would only have paid $1900 for the pair. I'd just rather have only one due to me having two other cars and I'm running out of space.

Solution: get rid of one car or get more space.
I went with more space.
:D:cool::thumbup:

Had a blazer, loved it. Got a k20 as well, love it too.

I however had my blazer made into a half cab. That was the ticket, had the box for hauling stuff, than could also pop the back window off the cab for the blazer look.
