Since Q1 in 2023 prices for K5 has been on a decline. What do you think 2025 will hold?

Continue to decline, along with boats, bikes, and other nice to haves. Manufacturing is in a downturn and layoffs are way up so that dries up demand, and the high interest rates makes credit card purchases and loans for projects more unaffordable.

I think what we are seeing in 2024 is more K5s for sale which is causing the prices to decline. Also maybe people think now there 10K K5 is work 25K. Missing on this chart is condition. So maybe the unsold grey dots from this year are poor condition K5s. The 100K plus K5s are extreme low millage K5s that were stored away since new. That is an anomaly.

As with most vehicles, the ones that remain in pristine condition will continue to gain value. The ones that sit outside forever and barely run will continue to decay and thus continue to lose value.

Where is the data from? 50-100 data points over a year is an awful small sample size to make any real conclusions.

That doesn't look like conclusive data. I mean, where does it come from? The range is practically free to nearly $1/4-million, so I don't think you can fairly say that the average is $35k or whatever. There are so few dots in the graph that it clearly doesn't represent all of them sold. You have to figure MOST K5s changing hands are between private individuals and isn't reported. Those sold at collector dealerships and high-profile auctions are not average examples. Likewise, a K5 traded in to a dealership and sold off their used car lot is maybe more an exception than the norm.

I found it online. It was either hagerty or a site like hagerty. It mostly pulls the data from auction sites I believe.

This is Haggerty, I just pulled it from their site...values over last 5 years. They are holding pretty good, went down a couple percent in 2023 but regaining

What goes up must come down...there will come a time when their value tanks just like classic cars

I’ve noticed project cars and 1950’s-1960’s sedans coming down.

Yes, the people who collect 1950's cars are dying out and the market for them is plummeting except for maybe 1950's Corvettes

I just started to wonder when muscle cars will go out of style and plummet in desirability. Then I realized i'm probably the last generation that will like them enough to ever start that project. My kids might appreciate them but it'd be like driving a steam powered car to them. Too antiquated.

Interesting that “good” condition increased the most. Probably because that would be most peoples driver quality, no major work required just get in and enjoy it, which is what most people want at the end of the day.

Think it depends where you are. Here houses prices still going up and selling fast. Im in a big metropolitan area, so guess that makes sense since more demand. Will drive higher real estate taxes, so even if you arent trying to buy, still feel some pain.
