K5 prototype

Thats a K5 wannabe. Even with the soft top, it will never compare to the '69 - '91 K5's.

Huh. Besides the suicide doors, that's a 120% scale model of ... an Isuzu Amigo.

A vehicle that sold so poorly that the manufacturer not only stopped making them, but got out of entirely selling passenger cars and light trucks.

I'd also be real curious about registering that thing ... a VIN that ends in "EX" can't be good =))

[NB: I happen to own the 80% scale model of this, the Amigo, and quite enjoy it...]

I'm nor sure what you call it. It's like all of Chevys trucks combined to make one

That thing is fugly!!! Also I dont see 180 degrees of travel on those suicide doors, more like 95-100.

This truck is either a heavily modified 2 door or fake add. The concept k5 looked liked this but only one was made for autoshow. Like when the 2010 camaro first made public. If it is the real deal then they paid more then anyone would ever pay.

The listing states that it is a modified 2-door. I thought the one displayed at the car show looked better.

This one is cool in a lot of ways but I think the lines for the removable top are wrong. The back doors are great for rear seat access, but they throw off the "pick-up truck" look when it's topless. Also, the "soft-top" is terrible and the hard top should be SUV/K5-style instead of tonneau cover style.

It would make a good daily driver and conversation piece, though.

I think if I bought it, I would try to make a custom removable fiberglass topper. But then one would have to take out those precious rear doors to custom make a rear tailgate and window setup as well. That 440hp 6.0 sure does sound good though. Would take that in a heartbeat.

Hate to say it, but it sure looks like it IS the autoshow car. God knows how, but even the custom wheels are the same. I remember them being custom billet or budnick wheels with chevy center caps.

And really, i don't think it looks that bad. Until they put the amigo half soft top thing on it.

Definitely not a 2 door Tahoe...unless they grafted all the sheetmetal from a 99+ vehicle onto the 92-99 body style Tahoe 2 door.

Interesting but FAIL.

I saw this auction, and told my brother about it. He happened to be in the STL area today, and drove over to the dealership. I think he may be interested in it, cause he called me to get the bank's phone number. =)

it could be. i remember hearing a while back chevy sold most of its prototype and concept cars. along with a huge chunk of their classic cars. from what i remember dealerships got first dibs then the rest were auctioned off.

My brother's on the phone. He says "It's not even at the dealership. When they shipped it, it had roof damage, so they sent it off about 2 hours before I got there. Then the dude tried to sell it to me for $24,000. Then he tried to get me to answer 'how much payment could you afford?'."
