K5 rear seat belt differences for car seats?

So I have a 74 and just tried to put car seats in the back seat for my twin girls and the buckle will not pass through the safety bar in the car seat. The belts are stock for the year I believe.

What are you all using to get your kids out with you short of custom seats,belts and roll bars.

My girls are 2 1/2 and just want to get them up in the high country. Nothing extreme just forest service roads.

The car seats we have fit my giant belts back there. It's just a lap belt, but there's plenty of space for any kind of belt I can imagine. Maybe you just got unlucky with your brand of carseat?

Looks like i may need the newer style rear lap belts With the buckle fixed and the hook adjustable.

Can you please post pics of your car seats mounted in the rear seat and pics of the newer style seat beats.
