does the factory inner rocker panel have a relief in the middle to let water out?

Yes, There should be a part that is bent inwards at the lower lip that acts as a small drain. On 73-75 full convertibles, the rocker box has two areas that have indents that drain

my CC Mutt has the rocker off with the drain hump very visible.. not a K5, but i'll take a pic of it, it's probably the same..... ignore the blown out spotweld...
