Anyone know if there is a company out there that prefabs roll cages for 79 k5 blazers. Something that I can weld together?

thanks

I will be getting a cage soon as well, so I just checked the prices and they want $499 for the 10 point 1 3/4 DOM kit, and $279 for the 1 5/8 EWS kit. I was planning on getting the DOM, but not at that price. The Jegs kit goes for $219. Does anybody know if that will work with a blazer, and what size and type of tube they use?

I have the JEGS 10 point in my '76 K5. They use 1-5/8 DOM and some are pre-notched.You'll have to do a little fab to make it work where you want it.A little over $300 to my door, truck freight was like $80.

:Edit: I've heard that SW racecars makes their kits for them,dunno...

Walla2k5,
Do you have any pics of the cage installed in your Blazer? Thanks.

Here's what the s&W cage looks like welded up, courtesy of jaysonsk5

S&W claims to sell a "family" package or maybe they call it an "addition", anyway, it's to allow you to protect your rear passengers. I'm thinking of getting it but, I've never seen pictures of it.

When I was looking at that kit the Family addition was an extra section that went behind the back seat (basically extending the front cage back a little farther over the rear seat) then attached to the downsloaping rear bars.

Does anybody have pictures of what this looks like? I have a '73 and the rear seat sits back a liitle further than the ones made in the '80's. I just want to make sure the tubes go back far enough to protect the heads of my passengers.

They use to have a picture of it in their catalog about a year ago but it looks like they have changed the format and dont list or show it anymore
