Anybody got a clue what the hardware looks like that holds the spare tire to the bracket behind the rear seat?

i seem to remember it basically being a piece of flatbar, slightly bent with a threaded hole in it. haha

There is a big washer thing that sits in the center hole of the wheel. Then there is an offset steel bracket thing with threads in it to mate with the stud captured in the carrier. Sorry, maybe somebody else has a picture.

OK...close enough....I went ahead an snagged this one on eBay...I think it is the right one?

Ill half to look at a 76 I got sitting out back,if its the same? I think it still has all the spare tire stuff sitting it its dark out now ill try to get a pic of it tomarrow.

Looks right to me, been a while since I pulled the one out of that parts truck I had.

I have never seen one...they are never in the trucks in the parts yards...I'm not sure I understand yet how the thing will attach to the bracket slot.

Thats correct part you got

The bolt goes from behind and that little spring clip holds it on lossely so it can slide up and down to adjust to the center of the wheel. Then that big round part goes over the center hole of the wheel and tightens to the bolt

I can get you pics if needed, mine is all original...even the tire lol

Thats the same as my 1984 K5..so your good to go. Could always fab something up. If I ever do an interior tire carrier, ill probably go with one of the racing Y bolt thingys to hold it down.
