K5 tailgate info on parts ?

I am working on my 87 K5 tailgate and curious what couple thing are and way they work. Can anyone give me some insight?

First pic what is the bar in middle with lever for and how does it work? Do not see what it does exactly.

Next is what this? I found it in the tailgate and only one was there.

First pic, that rod/bar is part of the mechanism to disable the tailgate handle if the window isn't down all the way/far enough. If you follow the rod down, you'll see where it has a little portion that the bottom of the tailgate contacts. I'm not looking at my tailgate right now, but I believe you are missing a spring that pulls it back up as the tailgate weight is removed from it. As the picture is oriented, in the access hole below that rod, where you can see the bolt head, just a hair above the bolt you can see a notch. I believe that is what the rod is supposed to fit into.

That little pad isn't familiar to me.

i think the pad is where the window sits when its down but i could be wrong

I think I have the spring (anyone have a pic to refresh me on what it looks like)?

Dyeager will do jumper as you stated makes since not if it breaks but when and don't want to run into that problem.

Kain thanks will try to find a bumper or make one but not going to make a order for it this time.

Can anyone tell me is this seal only glued down on the very bottom to tailgate? Would like to install new one and want to be sure before hand.

i glued mine all the way around, but i can check as soon as it stops raining

so your saying the bottom on the seal and the side of the seal are both glued down correct?
