K5 Tailgate ???

Are all the 73-87? K5 tailgates w/glass interchangable? I have an 81' K5 with a non working power window and would like to get a manual tailgate. Just like to know what to look for? Thanks.

i believe they are all the same exept for the blazers that came with a factory sot top.

Well, I found out that they are different. I just bought a manual one and it doesn't even come close to fitting. I'm guessing it's from a 73-80??? Mine is an electric from my 1981.

The latter is, I suspect, a pickup tailgate -- and I've only ever seen them on LMC.

Yes, to answer the OP, 73-91 Blazer tailgates are all the same. I had an 86 CUCV gate on my '74 for some years.

if the one you got didn't fit, it would be a Suburban tailgate, which looks very very similar, but ain't

Your exactly right!!! The one I got must be for a Suburban.

They are completly interchangable. You can also swap just guts if you want, however 73-77's didn't have the extra mounting locations for power motor, etc, but your going the other way, so no sweat. K5's that came from factory with softop or no top ('73-75's you could order without any top!). got a pickup tailgate. You must have got a suburban tailgate, those are different.
