K5 test drives

Hard to decide which one looks better.
Really like the bumper on the yellow one with the built-in turn indicators, especially the side ones.

The yellow one is mine. I had a buddy at a machine shop build front and rear bumpers for $500. I gave him dimentions taking account for the body lift. It’s nice to be able to stand one the front bumper to get under the hood lol. The orange k5 is in better shape with less rust, better body work, and new paint. But I’m not scared to take mine down a trail haha

60 miles ?...heck,I trust my old rotbox further than that (though I shouldn't!).
I'd not be afraid to drive either of those beautiful rigs coast to coast!..

It was pretty much our first test drives since motor swaps. We were pleased. That’s the plan is to drive them more and enjoy them.

I plan on building a bumper for my Crew Cab just like the one on the yeller 84. I am guessing the dimensions are 10" length at its widest across the top, and 10" wide across the front using 10" wide diamond plate which determined much of the bumper dimensions.

Mine was a little more custom...I can get some better dimensions during the daylight

It looks like you used 12 in. (1-ft) diamond plate on the top, and 10-in. diamond plate across the front. Do you have an angle finder to get the degrees of angle where it angled back towards the front fenders? Thanks for the pics!

My buddy worked at a metal shop the front facing is all one piece that was made with breaks in it...i wish I still had the demensions of the drawings...the reason I went so big was the 3 inch body lift gap I had to cover....these are some older pics...the back bumper was made the same way 8270A9F6-D9A1-4820-966E-AAA29DCBAB40.jpeg 45811C72-FC2B-4067-8AF0-374B5279A60E.jpeg 45811C72-FC2B-4067-8AF0-374B5279A60E.jpeg 37E6AA3E-533C-4097-B0EC-0052E87B0687.jpeg 4F980B0F-0990-4ACD-B5E4-AE49F851266B.jpeg
