They're very easy to replace yourself. I swapped in sliding windows where I had the one piece windows before. I had never done it before...
At the bottom of the window in the rubber you'll see a metal tab, get a small screwdriver and pry the tab out of the rubber, try not to mangle it.
Once the tab is out you'll see the ends of the rubber rope that is in the seal itself. Get one end out and gently pull it out all the way around the window, put it to the side.
I used a somewhat dull screwdriver and started at the top rear corner of the window, and a little at a time worked the glass out of the seal. You get the hang of it pretty quickly. I had no trouble getting both sides out without chipping the glass.
For installation I used some of that liquid hand soap, and spread a liberal amount in the seal, then using a pair of screwdrivers worked the sliding window into the seal
Here is the new window going in, you can see the rope thing started...
Same deal, lots of soapy lube and some patience and I was done in less than 45 minutes per side.
