does anyone know where to get the tool that takes the factory special torque bolts out ????????

Not to sure what bolts you are talking about? did you get all the visible ones when you sit in the rear seat and along the bed rails. other than that if your top has never been taken off before than you need to loosen the side panels and reach in above the tail light area and undo 2 bolts.

if its a '90, my top had the same ones. They are a special security socket that basically looks like a torx but hollow in the middle. You should be able to get a set at an automotive tools store. I got mine at Princess Auto in Canada, I'm not sure where you would find them in the states, maybe someone can chime in on that

It's "Torx", or star-head.

Depending on the size, Harbor Freight might have them (they're the Princess Auto of the US), or your local auto parts place. NAPA more likely than Checker/Schucks/Kragen/OReilly, say.

They are the security torx bolts, and I got my sockets for them at Sears

Its common on a lot of vehicles. Usually find them in a safety situation, like seat belts in a jeep I used to have.

If you havent found them... auto parts store is your best bet.

I got a set off of eBay a while back for around $20. They aren't Snap on quality, but they get the job done.
