K5 vs Regular Blazer

Ok, I know we are in a 4x4 forum but, not all blazers are K5's. Everyone here is forgetting about the fullsize 2WD blazer. The K designates a 4x4 version. So what do they call the fullsize 2WD version? C5 maybe???

no...2WD blazers are T-5's

the "T" stands for TRAGIC!!! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

i am soooo witty /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

actually, the T designation is for the 2wd version of the small blazer... S-10 and T-10

if I remember correctly the 2wd version of the late model full-size blazer (92+) is R-10... (4x4 = V-10)

Re: Iceman, beg to differ

I've got some of the broshure information for the 76 Blazer in my webshots. Click the link in my sig, then at the bottom of my page click on my pitures link, go into the photo album titled "New Pic's" and you can download the information. Hope it'll help.

Even the 2 wheel drive Blazers are badged as a K5.
K5 does not mean 2x4, 4x4 1/2 ton whatever. K5 simply means it is a Blazer.
The VIN on a 2x4 K5 will read C10 and so on.

i think they are reading a little differently into your question than you intended. 1969-1991 full size blazers wit ha removable top are K5's like you are looking at. the only differnce that you will immediatly see is that the 19691975 models have removable ful tops instead of the half-cab edesign. there was a s-10 blazer made around 1983 and up i do believe. it chaned over in the mid 90's to tahoe or something like stated above. the K5 blazers and jimmys changed to IFS front in 92. these trucks have a orunder body style and are smaller. hope this helps you with basic stuff.

I was wondering what the diffrence is between regular blazers and K5 blazers, not that K5s are better. I want to know the diffrences in body styles, interiors and, standard features etc.. and why k5s warrant their own website

well now that we have the K5 ? out of the way..
body styles..
69-72 1st generation.
73-75 still full toppless second gen
76-91 half cab.
By all rights that is a K5 not an s-10 or somesuch.
The Cheyenne and Silverado packages are the ones with the options.
The reason the K5 warrants it's own website is it is the best freakin rig availible.

Good choice, My first rig was a 69 3/4 ton 2 wheeler with a 396. I was 15 and mowed lawns all summer long to get the $500 for it, my 1st score. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif
A K5 is a fine choice for a 1st rig. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Amen to that, brother! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I fully agree with that, but isn't modifing the K5's (building them up) half the fun of owning one ???? /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Quite honestly I get as much out of wrenching on my truck as I do wheeling it. Having it torn apart for the 47th time is the fun! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
