what are you guy's opinion cause i have a whole tpi set up including ecm and harness absolute everything. :waytogo:

What do you plan to do with the truck? You can turn an engine pretty high with TPI, but it gets expensive.

If you want the low end grunt, it's good.

IMO you do not want to deal with MAF, you will want MAP. You will need to get into chip burning, or find someone that is.

If the injectors aren't new, look at about $300 or so for replacements.

Forget it if you plan or have Vortec heads.

Sweet! I was a bit dissapointed in the horsepower though. Not as much as carboration IMO. I would suggest building the motor to the TPI system not the other way around. Its not a matter of just slapping one on a motor. You can, but its better the other way.

They make great truck engines. Low end torque. Not to mention being one of the coolest looking engines ever.

I have been doing some research on building to the tpi, but i have not found anything on LT1 Aluminum heads, and so for MAP and i do want low end. I plan on wheeling anything that comes my way, but mainly rocks

post this in the Injection Section...Eagle Mark & company will steer ya right...:waytogo:

LT1 heads won't work unless you do some modifying to the water jackets.

My brother in law has a Vortec headed TPI 355, He used the Edelbrock lower intake. I dont want to know what it cost though.

I think the SDPC2000 Vortec TPI base was about $500 quite a few years back, I don't think the Edelbrock is much less even today. I got mine at half price. Would still have been cheaper to stick with heads that matched the stock TPI base. Could have gotten some good aftermarket heads for the price difference of the Vortecs and Vortec base.

Of course when I bought my setup they didn't have the same options you do now for heads.

If you have everything, why wouldn't you run it? Are the two options TPI and carb? I can't think of anything the carb would be better at, unless you are revving really high and able to outflow the TPI base. Oh yeah, pair the carb up with a points ignition and you can drive after the nuclear holocaust/EMP. But that's about it.
