Kayak fishing

Going try fishing for reds in the Gulf of Mexico this afternoon from a Kayak.
This ought to be a blast.

The catch

Nothing spectacular. Some whiting, a couple white trout, two small sharks, a couple of catfish.

Had one mullet jump over the front of the Kayak.

Also was in the middle of a pod of dolphin. Had them swimming just a few feet from the Kayak. That's an experience. I have had them near a boat before, but in a kayak you are right down on thier level.

Hmmmmmmmmmm. I've caught some large sharks from small boats (and even standing in the surf once caught one almost 6') But I don't know about stretching it across the Kayak. Hmmmmmmmm.
One thing I'll guarantee, it's up close and personal from a kayak.

I have a Prowler 13 and use it quite a bit in the Gulf. Wait until you hook up on a big Red and it pulls you around for a while... Nothing else quite like it!
