Wow! The used car prices for the K5s seams rather high.

Poor $3,500
Average $6,000
Mint $12,000

I see them often CL from under 2k.

Are KBB prices reasonable?

Bad data perhaps? Well restored, perfectly running trucks I've seen still go for 5-6K. But ya always seem to 73-78 Blazer and trucks for $1-2K.

Neither NADA no KBB use any relevant data on older vehicles. Same with the "Consumer Price Guide" that most classic / muscle car sellers like to use.

Everday day on CL I will find an ad that reads "Classic 1970 something, NADA (or CPG) price says $8,000, I will sell for only $5,000...", and it's probably really only going to sell for maybe $3,500.

It seems like the actual sale sell price is about 45- 60% of these sources.

However, there is a sucker born every minute, and someone might actually pay more than 60% of those prices.

Yep the problem is there is always someone who can write a $12K check for something worth only $7k and it really doesn't hurt their bank account much. So they do it because they want it, they can, and it screw things up for the rest of us:)

Prices have come down the the muscle cars. There was the big bubble a few years ago. A sweeping tide can carry many boats.

There's 2 K5's on ebay right now for $20k. WTF is that!
One's got a bunch of cheap repo parts on it , and the other is a Chalet that sold for $10k 4 years ago.

I don't see a reserve on that Chalet, and the bidding is over $21,000 with 4 hours remaining....

Top bidder looks legit too...
