keep blowing taillight fuse

I was doing the same on my blazer. The harness for the reverse lights was shorting on the headers. Might check that.

my wife is on her way to santa fe in it right now and they keep blowing on her any idea on a quick fix just to get her there

kind of hard to see your hands sticking out the window at night and she would have no idea where to start looking for a short

A few questions. Does she really need to be traveling tonight? Can she wait til the am and at least she would be safer. If she cannot wait then she could tape a flashlight or some other light source to the back of the truck to warn oncoming traffic. The short could be from anything from a wire shorted at the trailer wiring connection to a shorted bulb socket. If she is losing the "taillights" then she would also lose the dash lights.

she is about half way there already when it started doing it what amp fuse should be in it

yes she has . still has brake lights and blinkers just no marker lights or dash lights

I thought so. Ask her to use hazard lights when she sees traffic around her. The short could be tough to find, Let's just get her there as safe as possible tonight and maybe fix the short tomorrow.

Is she alright? The hazards will help. Leave them on and get a flashlight for the dash light to check speed occationally. I am very familiar with the road she is on and with caution she should be ok. The brotherhood is here to help, at least from what we can do from here. cover the flasher lights on the dash with some black tape or a napkin or something so they dont frustrate her flashing in her eyes.

How close is she to her destination? the hazards will be a nuisance to the other folks on the road but everyone will know where she is.
