I have the keg already. I just need to get a lid and some fittings. I'll post some pics whenI'm done. BTW I'm to cheap for a real gas tank :wink1:

how about just a kegerator in your truck for those late nights of being broken on the trail?

i've seen some dune buggys run them they look cool, i wounder if i could mount one on my truck, but not fill it with gas :wink1:

just get a new fuel cell, mount it in the box. Make sure do to it somehow so you can pack ice around it. Then just run an electric fuel pump into the cab. That way when you here that loud BANG on the trail. You can have a calmer downer before you see how bad you fubared ur rig

This is how mine look, they've been on there for about 5 years and haven't had any problems.

why not a propane tank like they use on forklifts? i think that may be a little easier..i won't lie the keg looks sick..

Dam I need a memebrship

O well too poor :doah:lol

I just can't see paying 25 dollars to post. Maybe one day I will. Id go for a 10$ membership though.

I have 2 kegs that have been converted to gas tanks to be mounted on their side. Have a cap and an outlet. Right now they hold my speakers up in my living room.

What did you use for the gas cap?

they were like that when my old roomy left them here. Not sure what to use for cap, just know there is a 2" holes in them then rounded out. Prob get the filler for a cell and bolt into it maybe.

Now I know not everyone makes a lot of money but are you serious that over the course of a month or two you can't scrounge up $25????? How many times have you eaten at fast food in the past two months? If you can't afford the $25 dollars how do you afford to get online with internet access? This must be the wrong hobby (wheeling) for you if you need parts or something breaks. I'll tell you what, depending on your response I may have a plan. Please answer honostly.

Reminds me of a skit they used to do on "In Living Color". The bum went in to buy a pack of rubbers. "$5 dolla's fer a pack of rubbers? Damn! How much fer just one rubber?" The clerk tells him they cant break open a pack, so the bum spots a pack of ballons at the counter. ".99 fer a pack of ballons, Damn! How much fer just one ballon?":haha: Must of been one of the Wayons brothers doing that, not sure, just always thought it was hilarious.

Just kidding Howdiy, I know sometimes $25 to spare is hard to come by. But I've been a member for awhile, and every year the troublshooting and "how to do it cheaper" help I've received on these forums has saved me more than the $25. Actually if I didnt get anymore help for the next 10 years and stayed a member, I might just break even.

I know how you feel about the membership thing. I think $25 is plenty fair with all of the information you can get on here. I have been a paying member now since 2003 but my membership recently ran out. I am definitely going to renew sometime soon but I just dont have the funds at this moment. All of the money I get goes into my truck, my car (no mods just repairs since it is 22 years old), insurance, gas, rent, tuition....etc. Whenever I have a spare $25 laying around that doesnt need to go to one of these causes (I would have had it today but I just found out that my dd needs motor mounts asap which cost $25)...then ill renew.

I have the money I just don't think it's worth it. I could spend 25 dollars and get a new high quality heim joint for my race car :D I just don't have 25 dollars to blow

I just spent 22 dollars on some wax :doah:But it last for 5 months and helps protect my paint.

But the only thing is I don't really benefit from this advice. Nothing is too complicated on these trucks. It's not like the race. You deal with roll center, roll couple, bump steer down to the thousanths, and alot of other things

I couldn't care less if someone is a paid member or not but if it wasn't for spending the money I wouldn't have anyone to wheel with. I am on lots of boards where it's free to post in any section you want. I can put up a thread on 10 sites about a date to go wheeling. the only people who ever show are the paid members from here.

maybe that has nothing to do with the other, but I have met some cool people because I paid to use the regionals and the classified section here. I have also made back all my money and then some selling parts here. I even bought some parts I needed.

I am not trying to convince you or anyone to pay up. But I can guess that there are a lot of guys like me, that didn't know what exactly they were getting for their money. I was up late drinking one night and was tired of not being able to see the pictures, so I paid. :D

And gas tanks made out of kegs are cool.:waytogo:

Well, like I said earlier in the thread, depending on your response, I just might have a plan since you are not a paying member. However, your first statement just made me change my mind. You obviously think there is a benefit to posting up on this site or you wouldn't be he for as long as you have had login access. You are just cheap. It's a shame that you think $25 would be a waste of money to be a member here. These are the reasons I think that sites like these should only have a 30 day trial membership for free and then no access at all without paying.

i totally think this was the best $25 ive spent on my truck so far!! i made so many friends and got some stuff for free and really cheap!!

i hope to scavange up $25 more by the end of the month so i can renew :)

I don't use it for finding wheeling partners, don't use it to find parts. I just like to look at pictures for ideas :D

I do post on various corvette forums. They have helped me make a better race car.

Anyways I found a D60 with a posi and 4.10's or 11's in my shop nieghbors loft. I should be able to get it for 200 bucks or so. He's runnin rockwells now.

And I'm only 16
