I'm not sure if its the same as on the 700R4 but if it is then it should go easy. On the 700R4 the cable is held in place by a single 10mm bolt at the trans. Disconnect the cable from the trottle body, then remove the bolt (at trans) and slide the cable upwards. There is a hook coming from the trans that attaches to the cable and is held in place by a booth on the trans end of the cable. Move the booth upwards to release the hook from the cable.

I hope this is what you need.

pretty similar in the th350. Pan has to come off, then its obvious.

im probably gonna have to drop the pan, i just wanted to make sure if i drop it i would be able to get to it.

got it disconnected at carb and took the bolt out, then tryed to pull it out a little to see the end of the cable with the little hole that hooks inside the trans and cant get it out far enough to see it. i put the cable on when the tranny was out of the truck, but with it in the truck i just cant see any thing.

No need to drop the pan. With the cable disconnected at the carb and the bolt removed at the trans you will need to pull the cable housing out of the trans and then the metal rod will have some spring tension but IT WILL pull up enough for you to grab it with a pair of pliers and hold it there until you fish the cable off of the rod.

man thats what ive been trying to do for the past 3 days, ill be workin on it some more tomorrow so ill see what i can do. i really dont want to pull the pan.

Susanville. ~80 mi. north of reno.

My Aunt and Uncle live in Milford (1 mile up the road behind Honey Lake Campgrounds) and work in Susanville (they've been there 30+ years). I've been there MANY times and hopefully i'll be heading that way sometime soon to for a visit. I'll have to contact you before i head up that way and see if we can meet up.

Well, i WAS an automotive machinist until last Wednesday when i was forced to close my shop. I'm now awaiting unemployment stuff to get here.

Yes, Hayward is only about 5 miles north from me to the border.
