Making a kill/dead switch, but i do not know which wires i need to use as the "break" wire. can some one explain it to me.
its for my 85 K5 Blazer.
Thnx

You're going to have to let us know if your kill switch is going to be for the ignition, starter or the battery itself. The switch and wire size is dependant on this info.

well thats what im looking to find out. looking for suggestions and ideas.

Well, the more theft preventive kill switches you have the better your chance at keeping your rig. You could always do a battery kill, starter kill AND an ignition kill switch. At least this way someone would have to overcome all 3 kill switches in order to drive it away.

The Coil wire is a single wire or is it insulated like the plug wires?

the heavey guage wire from the battery?

If yours is the big cap HEI then we are talkiing about the 10 gauge red wire that plugs into the BATT terminal at the cap. This is the wire that you would install a switch between.

questions, thoughts, options

So would that wire be better utilized as a remote switch application (relay, seilnoid, etc) or more for an application where you would have to open the hood to turn on and off?

im going to use wires and complete the circuit by running the wires thru the fire wall into the cab behind the driver seat belt box where a toggle switch will sit.. hidden behind the box. hope it works.
