I read on fb once where someone suggested buying a prepaid cheapo cell phone, enable the gps and installing/hiding it and car charger in the vehicle. Pay when you want it active and let the service lapse when you don’t.

Seems like a legit idea but I’ve never done it. I guess the next question is which type of device would ping back the most precise location.

Going to and on the way back from Moab, I left my work cell plugged in and stuffed under a seat of the Dodge. Verizon family tracking app. So the tow rig and the Jimmy were tracked.

my friend's dad used to take apart his cigarette lighters and put a push button kill switch inside it. really something mentally challenging about sticking your finger down in there lol! - therefore not the first place most people would look for a kill switch??

I hid a battery cut off switch on mine. Low tech and imperfect, especially if someone sees me when I park it. But it’s something.

Here is mine. I use the ign switch inline to coil wire. So it will crank but no fire to plugs. Used to use fuel pump switch for electric fuel pump to carb. But don’t use it now with the proflo 4, but I guess I could as added protection.
Switch panel sits in front part of the tuffy box
So when I lock the top it’s not easily accesable.
