Hey all, I was about to head to kragens started the my truck it idled for about 5- to 10 seconds then sounded like it was running out of fuel then died. Gauge says 1/4 of a tank. The gauge could be wrong but it hasnt been in the past. Tried to restart and I could not get it to fire.

. Added a lil over a gallon of fuel bled the fuel filter(which is about a week old) cracked the injectors and cranked it over for a about 15 seconds and it caught and had been running for about 5 minutes now.

So what gives? Do I need to test The injection pump?

Maybe you should check your fuel guage?
My car guage was fine and I got used to how it read then I started running out of fuel, at first I thought it was a fluke, later realized it is changing, it would run out of fuel now when it shows about 5 gallons left.

If its the fuel gauge its just now doing it. I went and put 20 bucks in and it reads about half a tank, which seems about tright. So far no issues, starts up fine. I guess I should test the gauge, but I have no idea how to do that unless I pull the float.

Just monitor it closer and carry a small 2 gallon container full of fuel, so if you do run out again you don't get stranded.
That's how I found out I had a deteriorating guage system, my guess it's the sender but I don't have to know anymore since I let go of my car.:wink1:

Well there is a hole cut out of the tub where someone pulled the unit out already. Im thinking of pulling it just to see:D
