I know ive seen a post about re-install of D-60 kingpins somewhere but I searched for a while and cant locate it. I got the new kingpins in and cranked the crap out of them with a 4' cheater, and 190lbs of me hanging on the end. In your guys opinion is that sufficient to keep them in place or should i get a torque multiplier/big Impact/etc to make sure they're torqued in there enough. . . . . . .locktite?

thanks.

Lots of people do just as you have and are ok. I bought a Snap-on 200-600 ft/lb torque wrench just for this application though. I just don't want any issues that could have been avoided in the first place (that's just me). Besides, a man can never have too many tools. I bought all of my Snap-on torque wrenches off of e-bay and saved ALOT of money even after having the used ones calibrated.

haha, i own that socket too..... didn't even need it for my removal, they turned out by hand... :eek1: think it was about $75 off the Snappy truck...

I'll be glad i have it for the rebuild... but i've lost access to a 600lb torque wrench..... i'll have beg/borrow/rent one...

Sounds like you got the pull on it pretty good.

One side of mine pulled out, I didn't even have to turn it:

A 200lbs body standing on a 36" cheater bar will provide the 600 ft/lbs you need. I'm only 190 so I just bounced on it a bit to bring it over the top. :)

that means I could get by with a 24" bar!:haha:
