Hi everyone,

Drilling first, short history :popcorn:
I follow this forums for years now, you helped me a lot before:bow:, it's not my first post (lost my password after changing my email) now I'm "new member".
My first full size was jimmy 1990, bought it in 1994.
Do some improvements, 14 bolt + Dana 60 , 4.56 , Detroit rear lock right front, 35", ord shackle flip with 56" spring, steering box brace kit...bought Klune-v 2.72 and np205 but didn't install it...yet.

Unfortunately needed to sell the jimmy 5 years ago, since then I had regrets doing that.

Two months ago bought the same jimmy back :woot:
THE KID IS BACK HOME !!! :waytogo:

History ends... now it's the time for my question:
What do you guys suggest me to do: Klune-v + 205 or atlas 4 spead?

Also searching for ls engine+6l80 to swap the old 250k mile engine.

Will appreciate any help.

Don't have any suggestions for you. But 1st post and already a paying member. You will be helped soon by many knowledgable people. :thumb:

I think you misunderstood Adam. He was essentially welcoming you to the site and saying someone with more helpful advice would be along later. If Adam would've read more carefully he would've seen you were already a member before.

On to the topic do they even still make the Klune?? I haven't seen a new one of those used in a long time.

I just looked on their website and its all discontinued. id stay away from it even if you could get it used. Id roll with an atlas if you want to spend that much.
 
There are other options. The Hero case from trail worthy fab. The behemoth engineering stuff. But expect very very very long wait times. There is also the magnum from Off road design.

Me personally I would be looking at the hero case or the magnum box

I would also pay attention to which one is the shortest one
 
Smokinthehippies The Klune are discontinued like wetoolowdingbangow said, cannot stay away, bought it new 10 years ago.
I have the opportunity to sell it with the 205 and just add few $ for the atlas.
Will look and learn the cases that you guys suggest me.
Does this cases will work better then the 205 (vibration, noise) still it's almost 30 years old?
 
The Klune guy died so they are not around anymore. Go with an ORD Magnum and Np205.

Since you have a klune, id run it, CTM makes a better center shaft if you break the stock one. Planetaries can be replaced if you wipe out the support bearing. The older 3 speed atlas cases have problems. Newer ones are supposed to be stronger.

Poor guy from Israel is going to think you are insulting him intentionally...

If you already have the Klune, just run it. An Atlas is nice but far from the end all be all of transfer cases.

Yeah turns out my snoring woke my wife up so she sabatooged my keyboard with shortcuts last night. Took me a bit to figure out lol.

Looks like I will go with the klune. Will order the short input 32 spline for the 205 and get them ready for the ls+trans.

Sorry Tomerk5, I was not insulting etc, I had just skimmed your post and didn't see you had been a member before. I should learn to read all the words :whistle:
