I have a 73 Chevy passenger side knuckle that has an angled tie rod arm with a tapered hole that is tapered from the top down. I also have a knuckle, that is presumably off a Chevy, that has a straight tie rod arm that has a hole tapered from the bottom up. Anybody know the difference? Everything else is the same. Is it because the one is from a D44HD and the other is from a 1/2 ton axle? Are they interchangeable?
I've searched, but can't find anything useful.
Thanks

Awesome, I'll do that! I found out the 2nd knuckle came off a 10b van. I think somethings lined up, but will pm you if it falls through. Thanks

There are basically 2 different knuckles that cover all D44 and 10 bolt axles. The early D44 had a passenger side flat top knuckle also.

I wonder if the 1st knuckle's tie rod arm is just bent from abuse. The only difference between the 2, other that the bent arm, is that one had the TRE nut on top of the arm and the other has the nut under the arm. They are reamed differently. That must be what sweetk30 meant by left side over.

I can't remember which is which but the D44 tie rod taper goes in from one side and the 10 bolt is from the opposite side.

10 bolt goes through the bottom and d44's go through the top.
