This is probably a stupid noob question but how envolved or hard is it to take off the old knuckle on a 10 bolt front end and install a new one?? Does someone remember what size sockets i am going to need as well?? And how about having to do this without air tools because the knuckle broke in the yard and i dont think i have an extension cord long enough to run out that far??? Any help or pics would be great!!!! Thanks

And yes i have tried the search button

1 1/8 for the lower ball joint, 1 5/16 for the upper ball joint, 9/16 for the spindle bolts, allen wrench for the caliper bolts and locking hubs, 2 small screw drivers for the locking hub snap rings, and a 4 key spindle nut or punch and hammer.

all that is correct, but i'd really recommend just picking up a cheap set of snap ring pliers. the $10 it'll cost will be well worth the time and frustration it will save you if you're trying to use little screw drivers... yuk. otherwise, it's pretty easy. i've gotten to the point where i can do it in an hour and a half or so. be prepared to deal with ALOT of grease.

one other quick note, it might be helpful to have a couple picks/flat head screw drivers for removing the ring from the inside lip of the hub. it hides itself real well in the grease, but you won't get anything out until you get that ring out. it's about 6 inches around or so.

I don't run the axleshaft snapring anymore on my truck. They are not necessary if you have the large wire clip around the outside of the hub. The best thing for the wire snapring is a dental pick. With a 90* dental pick I can snag that wire snapring out in about 5 seconds. Small screwdrivers work to but are alot more frustrating. Dental picks are king for that job.
