I sent my Dana 44 knuckle in to get shaved for cross over steering. I found a guy that has two 3/4 ton 8 lug axles for sale with 4 10 gears in them. Will the knuckle fit these axles? They are off an early eighties blazer. Also the knuckle off my axles seems to be a lot beefier than the other knuckles on some of the other axles. Did they make them thicker on the earlier blazers?

Come to find out the po has 307 gears in the front and 373 gears in the back is the reason I am in this mess. My main ? Is should I buy a blazer that has 3/4 ton 8 lug with 410 gears in it for 1000$ ? Or should I just match the front end with the rear end 373? Sorry for the confusion.

Depends what kind of shape the blazer is in..

THe 3/4 ton axles are not worth 1000$ around here.

All the chevy dana 44/10 bolt axles interchange knuckles with some exceptions. The dana 44 tie rod went in from the top, the 10 bolt, came in from the bottom.

So if you had a passenger side flattop knuckle and put it on a 10 bolt, you would also need to change the driver side knuckle ao the tie rod would go n the top on both side.

Also, some of the early dana 44's had smaller spindles, whick isnt a big deal, and doesnt effect the knuckle.

Thanks man. I am going Thursday to a guys house to come back with some kind of combination. I guess which ever one he wants to part ways with. It's been pretty hard around here. Everybody has sent anything and everything to the crusher around here.

you could buy the blazer and throw your old axles under it and flip it

You can also get an insert for the tierod problems. I think either Ruff Stuff or WFO. Can't remember, but you drill the hole straight and put the tapper insert in. Works perfect and easier than getting another knuckle.
