I talked to Norm at KRC and he was a really cool who knew his stuff and walked me through everything that was involved in selecting the perfect pump for the job. Does anyone here have a pump from them and if so how does it compare to just modifying the stock one, performance wise? I'm looking at the aluminum 9.6cc pump with a bigger flow valve and boosting it up to 1400psi. Norm informed me that the only problem would be over heating cause the pump would have to be under driven so it doesnt exceed the max rpm's for the pump. So it would also mean that i needed to get a high flow short water pump. I thought about an electric pump but do they make a belt short enough to go from the crank to the pump. its V-belt. Hopefully all that makes sense and someone has one. Any info is appreciated. thanks.

I run the iron KRC. I went through on average a modified stock pump a month on my truck for about 14 months. Have had the KRC for over 2 years now without issue. I run the 3.9 GPM valve in it, stock pressure and stock KRC pulley. I do however have a 12" x 14" cooler with a fan on it and a SBC spin on oil filter on the system. Those two items will double your life span easily. The cooler is a must, and not a tiny stock cooler, something large.

Like I said, stock serp. KRC pump pulley and no rev limiter but I only go to 4500rpm max typically.
