I got a chance to buy a 19k mile verified gm original engine from a 1ton van for 500 bucks . . . Dont really need it but seems stupid to pass up from a trusted seller i know .

problem is in my area he started at 900 bucks and ni bites and i can get it for 500 at this point . . . if i do any other builds i am going bbc at this point . and its a full pull out frt drive and exhaust manifolds to boot from the 98 van . but i know i dont need it but hate to see it scrapped out .
Why is the mileage so low? Was it stored properly? Compression check numbers?
500 sit on it You have done a few builds for others, package deal the engine and install. Since you get to pull, it comes with loom and computer too ? what about trans ?

That's a steal if you can trust the seller.
Probably the issue the seller dealt with before...no one trusts sellers anymore. I tried to sell my 350 running, before I pulled it, but no takers. Ended up selling a perfectly good engine for $100, on the buyers assumption it would at least be a good core. Even then had to take the pan off to let him see it wasn't leaking parts.
Having personally observed what others have tried to pawn off as pulled running engines and "good" parts, I can't blame anyone for not taking the sellers word. But its unfortunate when good deals ARE out there.
