Ok , I have an alpine CDA-9883 cd/mp3 head unit . I am eventually going to buy me a laptop to take with me on road trips and whatnot . my question is is there an adapter cable that i can purchase so that the music on my laptop will play through my stereo system in my truck? or what would I need to purchase to make this work?

Simple solution is does that head unit have an auxillary audio input? It should be a simple headphone jack input, and if it does then you grab a cable and plug it from the laptops headphone jack to the input on the stereo. Whatever audio output you have on the laptop would then play through the stereo.

this unit doesnt have a headphone jack , but I did find out it has what alpine calls the AI-net plug in the back , I believe there is a cable that adapts the AI-net to an earphjone plug to plug into ipods and other mp3 players . hopefully that will work. thanks for the input.
