this is my first post, and i would like to say that this is one awsome site.

my question is, I just got a free junk front axel, for a 80's chevy, but it came with a drop steering arm, and leaf springs, that have a positive arch to them. the guy said it was a 4inch lift, and he gave me some 4inch blocks. I got them home, got the springs off. I put a strait edge across the two leaf spring bolt holes, and measured them, from the holes to the bottom of the 6 leafs, it was 6 and a half inches

i'm going to put these on my 85 k20, i just want to know how much lift it will give me.

they have six leafs, i dont think they can flatten out much

You'd be surprised. There is gonna be close to 2000 lbs on those springs.

BTW you spelled Illinois wrong...:p:

my 4" rancho lift springs have 5 leaves. i never measured the height on these, but the 6" i did have had 8" from the bolt holes to the bottom of the leaves. so it sounds like yours are 4"

the guy also had a set of 5 inch blocks, so if its a little more than a four inch lift, i can go get those.

or what about a shackle flip and one inch blocks
