Leaf spring revival

So after my rubicon trip my rear 56s were flat with some S like shape.

Do I need to get new leaf springs? Can I put so.e of the smaller curved leafs back in to reshape them?

I also have 52 inch lift springs sitting around...can I use mix match springs to get some arch back or is it too late?

Learned my lesson not running an overload lol.
 
short = no there whipped . can you re arch yes but = waste of money .

mix / match got to watch it as leafs get thinner on light packs / free arch of leafs plays with hights / length of leafs is wrong on back end of 56 over 52 by 4" longer .

get new / good used / built custom leafs and be done better with less problems.

and if rear use from 56 to 52 just move rear shackle hanger forward and redrill the front holes and bolt in and go . the hanger rivet holes are spaced 4" :whistle::eek1::D
 
Ahhh ok then. I guess me, some wrenches and a glock have a date with pick n pull.

Wouldnt the overloads help until I make a traction bar?
 
Come on E, Suburban 3/4 ton 7 leaf + overloads is the way to go. Did it look like I had trouble flexing? :D

If you run the overloads in the stock fashion, I can see that helping with axle wrap, but hurting flex. I don't remember seeing you have issues out there on the trail. Those springs were pretty much "S" shaped on the trailer LOL. Find a late 80s 3/4 ton burb and pull the leafs, flip the overload upside down to act as a "bump stop" to keep negative arching to a low. If you put them in and the ass is too high up, remove the overload, not the other springs.

Also, if I remember you are running the offset blocks. Make sure to remove the plastic shims that are between the leafs if you have the axle offset. The leaves will bend or crack at the spacer since they are not directly in line with the spring plate. Or, redrill the hole in the plastic and move inline with the U-bolts.
 
Having the overload will help for sure. I flex just fine with a 6 leaf 63" pack and I don't have alot of weight in the rear

Yeah! You can have your own vehicle picked n pulled if you're not careful. A few years ago a friend of mine went down there and his battery was stolen. I think he ended up seeing it for sale there.

Its tweak central there. Richmond that is. They be shooting pizza boys for fun...

Good to know. I felt like when I had 8 springs it wouldnt budge at all. maybe 5 or 6 springs and the overload would be better
 
find someone parting out a Burb on CList. There is a guy 6 miles from me that seems to do it all the time. Wants $50 for the pair. I just drive over, pay, and he throws them in my truck :D

I don't know if those spring you have now are worth saving. I don't think they are happy with you.
 
If they are multi arched at all ( wavy s shaped curvy etc) toss em. It's asking g for trouble using em. I have attempted to use the main leafs for kind of an anti wrap leaf but it never seems to work very well

Damn I need to find someone like that! my springs are shot. it's messing up my pinion angle and now I'm riding ass low. I'm looking at cl now to see if I can find anything.
