leak from top of gas tank

now while i have the gas tank out, ill try to figure this out. po put a new tank in, and when i would fill the tank up. it would leak from the top and all over the gas station .lol

i order a new seal that goes on top of the tank and am going to replace the hoses while i have it out. could it have anything to do with the vent that runs up near the canister?

He might have not even hooked up the vent. That could make a mess. He also might not have replaced the sending unit when he replaced the tank and it could be rusted out or have a busted fitting or something.
