i have replaced my oil pan gasket with the early and late model
felpro 1 peice gasket kit. i still have a leak at the front of the engine.
any ideas or help would be nice i have spent over 60.00 on a leak:confused:

Maybe it's not actually coming from the oil pan... Could be coming from somewhere on top of the motor and dripping down off the pan making it look like it was coming from the pan... Just an idea

Aren't there two different size pans/gasket setups at the front possible?

Any chance there is a mismatch there?

yes i have tried the thin and the thick oil pan gasket.
i just dont see how it can still be leaking.
i might take to a shop. An oil pan sould not be this hard to fix.

Clean the front of the motor really well and add some UV dye. Should be able to confirm the leak location from there.

If it's a stamped steel pan it could be tweaked or bent etc... Kinda like those junky sheet metal valve covers that always seem to leak.

The motor I just built has a leak like the one your describing right on the front of the oil pan. I thought mine was the pan gasket but turns out it's the front timing cover. Its those cheap stamped steel parts that seem to always find a way to get under your skin... I'd check the timing cover for sure. Sounds all to familiar! :waytogo:
