any one here ever had a 5100 series shock leak? were you able to get the shock replaced? there is a supposed limited lifetime warranty on the shock.

I used to change them with ease at 4wp with a real receipt. Very unusual for them to leak relative to other manufacturers.

Where did you buy them from?

If you can prove you’re the original purchaser and the part numbers match, it’s nearly a handshake after that. It was super easy for us.

By the book 50k if I remember right as an industry suggested service life.

I'm at 100k miles on the Bilstien 5100 shocks. Other then the oil leak I have not noticed any issue with them.

I’d say usually people will wait till 100+ and are amazed at the difference it’s makes. Especially after their first set of stock shocks going to the 5100s.

The reality is it’s hard to quantify how long they will last, but if they are still shocking then keep ‘em.

I noticed the differance when I went from stock GM stock to Bilstien. A much improvement over stock. I thought I would never need to buy shocks again as Bilstien has the lifetime warranty.
