Sorry, hadn't had time to search this and I need to head to work and hope to get some replies by lunch.

I rebuilt my injector pod and it ran fine for a day, then started leaking at the top of the driver side injector. Opened it up, I shredded the large o ring. I was unsure how much I needed to seat the injector, so I must have pushed it down too hard and rolled the o ring under the metal ring. I did use transmission fluid to lube the o rings. I tried pushing it down since the pod lid didn't seat on the body (I ended up alternately using the screws to pull down the lid and seat the injectors - was this bad?). I tried the old o rings for kicks and it sealed last night, but leaked this morning.

My questions: can I reuse the lid gasket or do I need to replace it since I opened it up? I also plan to buy new o rings and was hoping to avoid buying the whole repair kit if possible (if not, I'll just buy the kit again). Any tips on installation to avoid jacking up the gasket, metal ring, or o rings again? Anything that will help me not screw this up would be appreciated. Thanks!

Lid gasket, you mean the one that seals the top of the injector pod? Bunch of screws scattered around it? I re-used one on a TBI unit as I was shimming the stock FPR, never had an issue. I would expect to have less success if the gasket had been on there for months/years vs. days.

I don't really have any tips to not screw up the install, I did not have any issues taking it apart and reassembling multiple times.

I may have a partial gasket kit for the TBI laying around (probably every piece but the gasket you are talking about reusing, as I tore one). If you want it let me know, I'll see if I have it, and if I can find it. It was for a 454, but I don't think the seals you are talking about matter. Edit: I didn't recall the gasket kits being so expensive for the TBI's!

Yes, I do mean the top gasket with all the screws. The kits are about $26 here...I'll have to check if they piece out the ones I need. Thanks on the offer, it may be more cost effective to buy it down the street depending on cost, I think you are about 20 minutes away or so...

20 minutes? Where are you located??

Yes, if they aren't crazy expensive locally may be worth it, but I have no use for them either. If they didn't go when the truck was sold.

Pinched and tore the old o-ring too. I pulled out the metal backup ring and compared it to the old one...maybe it's my issue. The new one is beveled and has a larger inner radius - more room to suck in an o-ring? See the picture (old metal ring on the left). I'm going to head to oreilly with the o-rings, injector, and metal rings to see if they'll comp me another kit...
