i have an 84 chevy with a 305, and it smokes blue-black smoke when u rev it up and has horrible gas milage....how do i adjust it to lean out the carb?

this is completely stock, so it has the stock needles, etc. i just need to know how to get it from running so rich, it just needs to be a quick fix for now, until the guy buys a new carb, just really embarrassing to drive right now

Bone stock , start out with a simple tune up first , plugs , cap/rotor , etc . An oil change too . The idle mixture has nothing to do with it running past idle , so just set that to idle best . And with the timing set to stock , see what it does and post up

The blue smoke ( oil ) isn't going away until the motor/heads get rebuilt .

well i did give it a tune/up oil change already but i went and bought a couple things of no-smoke and some 30wieght oil is probably about as good as it is gonna get
