Learn how to weld like a girl

I'd bone her. Put her with Jessi and Kari and I'm on cloud 9.

oh lets not link her with that thread, they'll be shootin her down too.

No doubt. She's a cut girl that can weld BAD ASS. I bet she likes to build stuff too. I would date her in a second, then she could be my personal welder. :D

I'm not surprised, women have better fine motor skills and generally make very good welders. The all time best Tig welder I've ever seen or worked with was a woman.

I hired and worked with a black female machinist. Talk about a mythical unicorn. She had 21 years experience. She used to be a amature body builder, she showed me her photo album and videos of her competitions. She was cute, not a huge girl, like 5' 2" bout 130 but solid muscle. As a machinist she was...ok, not a good machinist in my openion. Little rough with the things she did. She would slap a vise up on the mill table. Or stick the quill out far when milling. You just don't do that kind of stuff.

One of her first close tollerance jobs I gave her to see if she could hold tollerance was a boring job on a housing. Tollerance was kinda close but easy in my openion, I know I have done WAY closer thousands of times. It was a + .0007 - .0000 (freakin engineers ). She said she thought it said +.007 -.000. She held that dimention but NOT the correct dim. :doah:. We machined out the coating, had it resprayed and she had to re-bore it a second time. She was able to hold tollerance but it took her some time to do. I had to fire her a year from the day I hired her. She would not work a minute of OT. Was mandatory so we let her go. She had a great ass to look at but she was a pian in the ass too.

Yeah, I don't have much experience with women as machinists, but as welders they typically are much better than average. Beyond the welding itself it becomes a real crapshoot though, as it can be a very heavy, physical, and dirty job to fit and fabricate stuff. Straight up welding...awesome usually.

As I said, I'm not surprised it was a female that won, and I'm not surprised at her age. Trust me, as you get older your hands don't get steadier. :p: That and she is definitely young enough not to overthink things.

All the test plates I've ever done, CWB, AWS whatever I've always read through the procedure and requirements...then jump right in and knock it out like it was anything else. Never had a problem, and the vast majority of my test plates looked dead sexy.

I'm not a pro by any stretch of the imagination but all my G2, G3, G4 test plates passed first try and looked really good aswell. Got good props from the instructor. Have not welded stick since school probably 4 or 5 years ago.

thats pretty cool that a chick won.she is pretty for sure.rene i was looking around the site there from the link trying to find the first place welds alo.haha.here is her u tube video.hope it works.either way she did real well for what the contest consists of. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/e77kXdFsQC...&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/e77kXdFsQC...xcfcfcf&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Is there something wrong with me for being disappointed that they didn't show the actual welded part??? :D

I was curious to see what a 1st Place weld actually LOOKS like....

:usaflag:

Yeah me too, I looked all over trying to find a picture of a beautiful weld...Al i found was a cute chick.

Makes me wonder about some of us round here, more excited about the prospect of an amazing weld than a picture of a cute girl...Oh well

thats what happens when you've been working on trucks for years.you start careing more about parts at the junkyard that you need than chasing tail.haha
