ok so I was googling and found many threads, etc of people using various different LED bulbs..

will these work?
https://www.amazon.com/JKLcom-Inter...way&sprefix=t10+194+le,automotive,127&sr=8-35

gonna get my dash brighter as it isn't so now... plus it says these work at other places, so want to see where else I can put them. I am going to do LED for all of my current lights as they are dim.

anyone do a 86 style front clip? and recommend bulbs for
front and side turns signals? I noticed I got one out so why do just one...

I got mine off of Amazon iirc. One thing differed on mine though since it's a 91. I think the 90 was the same too. But a couple of the locations on those clusters required a pc194 bulb instead of the normal 194. Only difference is the bulb does not come out of the socket.

I was able to get a couple pc194 bulbs from the local parts store and just pull the bulbs out of them and insert the 194 led into it.

If yours is 89 and earlier it should just take the straight 194 replacement.

Keep this in mind when shopping. Led light is very directional. In most single element LED bulbs the light goes straight out of the top. That won't help get the cluster brighter as it uses reflected light off the diffuser situated in front of the gauges. So you want LED bulbs that either have a wide angle output or multiple LED's on one bulb. SMD elements are better than the typical dome style led's too.

Best suggestion is get something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/AMAZENAR-30-...=led+194+bulb&qid=1556156010&s=gateway&sr=8-6

Multiple SMD elements that throw out a ton of light. Paint the inside of the housing in some high reflective silver and the backside of the diffuser the same and you'll have nice bright gauges.

I'd like to see these tested out: https://www.ebay.com/itm/20x-T10-19...e-Light-Bulb/132875982141?hash=item1ef006953d

I have found that the newest style (I am aware of) like that, with some sort of yellow material over the actual emitter, seems to scatter light far better than even multi-led setups, while keeping the same intensity. The dome light bulbs of that style are incredible IMO.

Note that the stock dimmer sometimes will not work properly with led's, and the flasher will also not work properly. I went with an *adjustable* electronic flasher, as a standard electronic flasher still did the hyper flash thing.

Also, I believe the other linked thread states it, but a regular led does not work in the side marker/blinker position, don't even try it. Just get the right led, or stay incandescent there.

Also based on my experience, the lights in the dash arent in the right place, no matter how bright. I had to add one to illuminate the trip odometer, and if I really wanted the lighting consistent all the way around, I'd have added more lights. I'm not a fan of bright dash lights, but they need to be illuminated evenly, the LEDs did seem to help for the most part, even when I dimmed them.

Is T10 twist locks the proper size dash bulb socket for GM square bodies? I think there are T5 twist locks as well. Those factory twist locks have to be replaced bulb and all. You cannot just insert new bulbs into GM factory twist lock sockets. I wish I could, but I found out the hard way that I could not.

some day.. if I ever get a computerized motor in my truck.. ill just be using an android tablet for my dash and torque pro.. then I can have whatever colors I want..

Did you do any Cluster Prep light painting the inside silver like I saw on other post, are they straight into the back of a stock cluster ?

They look great, but before investing, I want to be sure to get the most for the $ ...

no, other than dust out the cluster, and gauge faces, Windex the clear, I just plugged the bulbs in. Make sure they all work before you put everything back perm. They only go 1 way so you have a 50/50 chance of getting them in correctly the 1st time.
